to a quiet European atelier.
VitraDecoration began in 2018 when our founder — a former interior stylist — couldn’t find drinkware that matched the photography she was producing for European design magazines. Glass that was either disposable mass-market, or museum-priced and unusable.
She borrowed a kiln from a master glassblower outside Florence, sketched a single double-walled cup, and spent eight months refining the proportions before producing the first batch of forty.
Six years later, our atelier now produces four collections — drinkware, candle holders, reed diffusers, and oil lamps — in collaboration with three workshops across Italy, the Czech Republic, and Portugal. We remain small on purpose.
Quietly engineered,

Each piece begins with a brief — a problem we want to solve at the table. A cup that doesn’t sweat. A holder that throws light, not glare. A diffuser bottle that lasts longer than its contents.
We prototype in studio, refine across several batches, and only release pieces that survive daily use. Nothing in our catalog is decorative-only.
Heirloom over disposable.
The average piece of glassware in a Western home is discarded within four years. We design against that statistic. Our pieces are borosilicate, dishwasher-stable, breakage-replaceable, and proportioned to outlive trends.

Three rules we keep.

Slow over scaled
We refuse production targets that compromise quality. If a workshop can produce 80 pieces per week without rushing, we order 80 — not 200.

Honest pricing
We sell direct-to-customer and price our work to reflect what it actually costs to make — not what a retail markup would allow.

Stand behind it
Every order includes a 30-day breakage replacement. We’ve replaced fewer than 2% — but the policy stays.
