Material & Energy
- Every batch includes 30-40% post-consumer recycled glass cullet.
- Cullet lowers melt temperature and reduces furnace energy use.
- Waste-heat recovery pre-heats incoming raw material and the annealing kiln.
- Borosilicate takes more energy to melt but lasts dramatically longer than soda-lime drinkware.
Packaging
- Plastic shred, bubble wrap, and foam were eliminated in 2023.
- Boxes use paper shred and cardboard only.
- Cardboard is 80%+ post-consumer recycled fiber.
- Paper packaging breaks down in home compost conditions.
People & Artisan Community
Our workshop employs 14 master artisans, including specialists who have worked on the kiln for more than 30 years. Glass-blowing takes years to master, and we treat that skill as a career.
- Every artisan is paid above the local living-wage floor.
- Full health insurance, pension contributions, and paid leave are included.
- We train 2-3 paid apprentices each year through a five-year path.
Choose Objects That Stay in Use
Durable glass works best when it is cleaned, refilled, reused, and kept in the home for years.
